Caring Hands

We Don't Just Hire Caregivers. We Hire Motivated Hearts.

A uniform doesn't make a caregiver—compassion and knowledge do.

At A Star Above, our team is composed of individuals who see their work as a mission, providing a level of friendship and professionalism that "raises the bar" for the entire Treasure Coast.

Elderly Care Interaction

Our Personal Commitment to Elite Selection

We realize that for a caregiver to be successful, they need to be more than an employee—they need to be a substitute for the family and friends a senior may need. We look for individuals who understand that dignity and companionship are just as important as physical care.

  • All caregivers complete Level 2 AHCA background checks, which include fingerprint-based screening through state and federal databases as required by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration. This process reviews criminal history records at both the state and national level to ensure compliance with the strict standards required for in-home care providers.

  • To further protect our clients, we also require drug screening as part of our hiring process. This additional safeguard helps ensure that the caregivers entering your home are dependable, responsible, and able to provide care with clear judgment and professionalism

  • Our caregivers receive training that emphasizes respect, patience, communication, and emotional awareness, ensuring that every interaction supports the dignity and well-being of the senior in our care. But our commitment to excellence doesn’t stop at initial training.

  • Our ongoing education and professional development standards ensure our caregivers stay current with best practices in senior care. Through continued training sessions, skill refreshers, and educational opportunities, our team regularly strengthens their knowledge in areas such as fall prevention, dementia awareness, mobility support, personal care techniques, and effective communication with seniors and their families

  • At A Star Above, dependable care means more than simply arriving on time—it means showing up fully prepared, attentive, and ready to provide meaningful support.

  • We hold our caregivers to high standards of professionalism, reliability, and engagement. Our clients and their families can trust that their loved ones are receiving consistent, high-quality care.

  • Our team monitors caregiver performance to ensure that “showing up” truly means showing up with energy, focus, and a genuine commitment to the well-being of the senior. Caregivers are expected to be present, engaged, and proactive in supporting both the physical and emotional needs of those in their care.

  • To maintain these standards, we conduct ongoing quality control checks and supervisory follow-ups. This may include regular check-ins with families, caregiver performance reviews, and supervisory visits to ensure care plans are being followed and expectations are being met. We also encourage open communication so families can share feedback, ask questions, or request adjustments to care at any time.
